"Made in Texas," the newest from The Rogues, is a rockin', high energy double CD that promises a very good listen. Although recorded live, it is studio quality sound, with graphics to match. This hour and a half long double CD puts you in the front row at a Rogues show. Recorded at McGonigel's Mucky Duck Pub in Houston, hear The Rogues at their best with rockin', high-energy sets, as well as beautiful, inspirational pipe tunes. The band is joined by a few musician friends, creating a fantastic ensemble blend of bagpipes with drums, electric guitar, bass, keyboard, French horn, and flute. Band Description

Biography

Formed in Houston, Texas in 1994, The Rogues have now become international performers, with appearances all over North America and Scotland. They have shared the stage with Natalie McMaster, The Battlefield Band, Steeleye Span, and Eric Rigler (Bad Haggis), and have become the favourite act at numerous festivals and Scottish events around the country. Their fifth album, "The Rogues 5.0," earned four Grammy nominations, as well as two Grammy nominations on their previous album, "Off Kilter." The Rogues' newest release, "Made in Texas," in an hour-and-a-half long double CD that puts you in the frontt row at a Rogues show. This recording is also avaliable as a DVD.     I started toe tapping, then body moving and then I was up and dancing. These guys are what the word Celtic is all about. They take the Scots back to their roots.

    I'm Italian, so I don't know the right word to describe the cd. It's great, the set"Gravel walk-Andy Renwick's Ferret" is fantastic. The tune "Cullen Anderson" is very moving.

    From track one, you are invited to take serious fun seriously. If have their earlier studio albums, you'll recognize many of the tunes, but this live album is by no means redundant. It's just more life breathed into great music. The quality and clarity of the recording are impressive as well.

    Saw The Rogues live at the Renn Fest in MD. Great, great live show!! Our whole family really enjoys them, my 12 year old son even used his own money to buy their CD. There's nothing like "Star Wars" on the pipes being blasted throughout the house!

    Saw them live at the Ohio Scottish Games, bought the CD's but gave them away to friends and had to replace them. These guys are absolutely fantasic in a live performance, as this CD demonstrates. A great mix of traditional Scottish music, their own stuff, and of course Elvis..
